Day 18 Sat July 17th: Los Angeles, CA to Sequoia National Park, CA

Marina and Sean decided to give us a bit of some much-needed company in the Sequoias. It’s not like we’ve been within a 10-foot radius of each other for the past 3 weeks or anything. Sorry, getting off subject. It was kind of humbling to stand at the feet of the largest living thing on the planet. We all set up camp in Kings Canyon on the edge the campground over looking the valley below. West Coast sunsets are just simply amazing. Maybe it was just the high altitudes, Rocky Mountain High and all that, but everything was just astonishing. I have NEVER seen so many stars in my life. Denise and I both made the executive decision to leave the rain fly off and “lay our weary bones tonight on a bed of California stars (Wilco).”
